GPiLearn™ "Refresher" Administration Training
The Pre-Conference "Refresher" Training class will be held on 13 May 2008 and will begin at 9 am. Lunch will be provided. Training will be held at the New Horizons Training Lab. See below for more information.
Note: The GPiLearn "Refresher" training class is for administrators and managers who have previously attended a GPiLearn training class.
Training Topics
This year’s "short topic" training format will offer a broad range of learning opportunities. Topics will include:
- Loading JPMs and Site-Specific Content
- Reports
- Creating Customized Exams
- Programming Integrated Learnings (ILs)
- Developing Custom Content
- Developing Integrated Learnings (ILs)
- Open Discussions
When registering for the conference, you will be prompted to select the training sessions you are interested in attending. Space is limited, so please register as soon as possible to reserve your seat!
Loading JPMs and Site-Specific Content
This session will discuss how to load JPMs and site-specific content on your branded site. Practice exercises will be done during the class to demonstrate how to load PowerPoint presentations, Adobe PDF files, and SCORM and AICC content. Please note: You may bring your own site-specific content to load on your branded site during class.
Reports
This session will cover the types of reports available (i.e. Admin, Manager, and Individual), the output of various reports, and how to run and save reports.
Creating Customized Exams
This session will discuss the different types of exams that can be created on the portal. Practice exercises will be done to create “Random” and “Fixed” exams. Grouping lessons with exams will also be covered. Please note: You may bring your own exam questions to use during class.
Programming Integrated Learnings (ILs)
This session will cover how to program structured curriculua on your branded site. Discussions will cover creating "attributes" and "user groups", assigning ILs, and selecting the content to be included in the Integrated Learning.
Developing Custom Content
Developing site-specific content with particular authoring tools will help your company build content that is user friendly and easily tracked on GPiLearn. During this session, GP will discuss the following tools:
- Ready2Role
- Articulate
- Captivate
The benefits and examples of each tool will be covered during the session.
Developing Integrated Learnings (ILs)
This session will address how to create customized curricula (ILs) for different groups of employees (e.g. operators, I&C technicians, mechanics, O&M technicians, etc. The focus will be on how to create effective "blended" curricula that involve many training methodologies.
Open Discussions
Comments from the 2007 conference indicated that many clients are interested in learning how other companies use GPiLearn and how they motivate users. This open forum is an opportunity to exchange ideas! GP will lead the discussion groups and we invite those attending the session to discuss how their company is using GPiLearn. A computer will be available for attendees to demo how their GPiLearn branded site is set up.
Location Information
Training will be held at the New Horizons Training Lab, located at 1625 Broadway, Suite 2500. The training lab is located a half mile from the Westin Tabor Hotel. “Free to Rider” trolleys are available outside the hotel for transportation to the training lab. The trolleys run about every 3- 5 minutes.
Directions to the training facility:
- Start out going Northeast on Lawrence Street (.1 miles)
- Turn right onto 17th Street (.5 miles)
- Make a right onto Broadway (.1 miles)
