401(k) Plan
To help secure the future of you and your family, GP offers a 401(k) plan with a diverse choice of investment options. The 401(k) plan allows pre-tax contributions of up to the IRS maximum allowed, beginning on the 1st of the month following employment. Vesting occurs at 20% per year from date of hire. GP matches with GP Strategies stock after the first year of employment.
Bonus Plan
GP strives to reward employees for their contributions to its financial success. To that end, the company maintains a unique bonus program wherein employees demonstrating exceptional performance may be awarded bonuses during a performance period. The value of the bonus is based on the financial performance of the business unit and the company as a whole, and on the employee's commitment to company values. GP may also award profit-sharing and discretionary bonuses, as appropriate, based on individual and overall company performance.
Stock Options / Employer Stock
Through GP Strategies Corporation, GP's corporate parent, GP is able to award stock options to its employees from time to time. GP Strategies Corporation's common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol GPX. In addition, GP makes matching contributions to its 401(k) plan in the form of GP Strategies Corporation common stock, making GP employees as a group one of the largest non-institutional holders of GP Strategies Corporation stock and giving them a vested interest in the success of the company.
PTO / Holidays / Bereavement
All employees need to balance their careers with their home lives. GP encourages that balance. All full-time employees have 14 days of paid time off (PTO), increasing to 19 days after 5 years, 22 days after 10 years, and 24 days after 15. Eight holidays are provided as well. When employees lose those closest to them, GP provides three paid days off.
Flexible Environment
A flexible environment can add to the balance we all need—in the form of flexible office hours, part-time hours, business casual dress, and possibly some telecommuting.
Educational Assistance / GP University
GP feels that everyone benefits from continuous education and training, and provides 100% reimbursement for tuition, direct academic fees, and books (up to $5,200 per employee per year), as well as no cost in-house courses through GP University.
Employee Referral Program
Incentives are provided to encourage our employees to act as recruiters for GP, helping continue our growth each year. The current bonus is $1,000.00 per hire.
Vehicle Discount Programs
GP employees benefit from GP’s relationships with both General Motors (GM) and Daimler Chrysler (DC) through their supplier discount programs. For GM vehicles, employees are eligible to purchase or lease a new vehicle at the GM employee price plus 4%. For DC vehicles, employees receive a discount of 1% below factory invoice. In addition, GM offers GP employees the Great Moves by GMAC program to aid in refinancing, moving, etc.
Matching Gift Program
GP promotes individual support of worthwhile organizations in our local communities by matching dollar-for-dollar employee donations (up to $250.00 per year).
Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)
Our EAP provides legal services, dependent care services, and professional counseling services to all employees and their families to assist in dealing with life's challenges and changes.
529 College Savings Plan
CollegeAmerica provides GP employees with a new way to save for higher education expenses through a tax-advantaged account invested in American Funds. This is offered through the Virginia College Savings Plan to all employees. Enrollment is available at any time of the year.
Voluntary Insurance Options
Voluntary benefits are offered each July for the following additional insurance options:
- Universal life insurance offers locked-in premiums to employees and their family members.
- Critical illness insurance pays a lump sum benefit upon diagnosis of illnesses such as cancer, heart attack, or stroke.
Each of these plans is fully portable and offers discounted premiums through GP's group buying power.
